About the NLL

The NLL exists to provide creators with a simple set of rules for sharing their work while allowing other people to use that work as a foundation for new creations.

If you use NLL-licensed content as a base for your own work, you must give appropriate credit to the original creator. You may create something new from the work, but you may not falsely present the original work as entirely your own.

What You Can Do

The NLL allows users to work with licensed content while respecting the original creator.

Use

You may download and use NLL-licensed content in accordance with the conditions of the license.

Modify

You may modify, adapt, transform, or change the licensed content for your own projects.

Build Upon

You may use the content as a foundation for new creations and derivative works.

Share for Free

You may redistribute the content for free while respecting the attribution and license requirements.

Restrictions

The NLL protects the original creator from unauthorized attribution and commercialization.

Do Not Claim It as Your Own

You cannot present the original work as something that you created entirely yourself.

No Unauthorized Sale

You may not sell or commercially distribute the original work when prohibited by the NLL.

Do Not Remove Attribution

You must not deliberately remove credits in order to hide the identity of the original creator.

No License Circumvention

Minor changes must not be used as a method to circumvent the restrictions of the license.

Attribution

When using NLL-licensed content as a base for another creation, the original creator should be clearly identified.

Commercial Use

The NLL restricts the sale and commercialization of licensed content when prohibited by the license. If you want to use NLL-licensed content commercially, contact the original creator and request permission.

Third-Party Content

An NLL-licensed project may contain content created by multiple people. Third-party assets may have their own licenses and restrictions.

The NLL does not automatically override third-party licenses. Always check the licensing terms of external assets, libraries, models, textures, sounds, code, or other materials included in a project.

License Creator

The NLL (No Lively License) was created and is maintained by Nevulex.

Nevulex

Nevulex is the original creator and maintainer of the NLL - No Lively License. The NLL was created to allow creators to share their work while preserving proper attribution and protecting original creators from false claims of ownership and unauthorized commercialization.

PREAMBLE

The NLL (No Lively License) is a custom content license created to
establish the conditions under which a person may download, use,
modify, adapt, share, or use as a base content originally created and
published by another person.

The primary purpose of this license is to allow users to make use of
the work of other creators as a starting point for their own projects
without removing or hiding the recognition owed to the original
creator.

The NLL is intended to balance the freedom to use existing content
with respect for the authorship of the person who originally created
that content.

1. RECOGNITION OF THE ORIGINAL CREATOR

Anyone who uses content protected by the NLL must recognize the
original creator when using that content as part of a new creation,
modification, adaptation, project, or derivative work.

The credit should reasonably identify the person, group, or entity
that originally created the content.

When the creator has provided a username, alias, artistic name,
page, profile, repository, or another specific form of identification,
that information should be used when providing attribution.

When technically possible, the user should also provide a reference
to the original content or the location where it was originally
published.

Modifying, editing, transforming, combining, or adapting a work does
not automatically remove the original creator's right to be
recognized as the creator of the portion they originally created.

2. PROHIBITION OF FALSE ATTRIBUTION

No user may present another person's original content as though it
had been entirely created by them.

Users may not deliberately remove authorship information and then
claim that the content was originally created by them.

Minor modifications, format changes, visual adjustments, name
changes, or similar modifications may not be used as justification
for claiming complete authorship of the original content.

Users may claim authorship over the portions they personally created,
but must not falsely claim authorship over material originating from
another creator.

3. PROHIBITION OF SALE AND COMMERCIALIZATION

NLL-licensed content may not be sold, rented, sublicensed, or
commercialized by third parties without express permission from the
original creator when such activity is restricted by this license.

This restriction particularly applies to direct sales of the
original file or substantially equivalent copies.

Minor modifications must not be used as a method to bypass the
commercialization restrictions of the NLL.

If a user wants to perform a commercial activity involving
NLL-licensed content where such activity is restricted, they must
obtain permission from the original creator first.

4. USE AS A BASE FOR NEW CREATIONS

The NLL allows users to use licensed content as a starting point for
new creations, modifications, adaptations, or projects, provided
that the conditions of this license are respected.

A user may take an existing creation, study it, modify it, adapt it,
or combine it with elements created by themselves to develop
something new.

Using content as a base does not automatically transfer all rights
over the original material to the user.

The user retains the rights applicable to the parts they created,
while the original creator retains the rights applicable to their
original creation, unless another agreement exists.

5. MODIFICATION AND ADAPTATION

Users may modify, adapt, transform, or otherwise change
NLL-licensed content for their own projects provided that they
respect the conditions established by this license.

When a modified version is published, the user should reasonably
indicate that the version is based on content originally created by
another person when the relationship to the original content remains
relevant.

The user may receive credit for their own modifications and
contributions but must not imply that they originally created the
material that came from another creator.

6. FREE REDISTRIBUTION

NLL-licensed content may be redistributed for free provided that the
conditions of this license are respected.

Users may share the content with other users, provide copies, or
distribute it within projects and communities as long as authorship
information is not deliberately removed and the content is not
presented as an entirely original creation.

When reasonably possible, redistribution should preserve the license
file, authorship information, and original attribution notices.

7. PRESERVATION OF CREDITS

Creator names, attribution notices, project references, and other
authorship information should be preserved whenever reasonably
possible.

Such information must not be deliberately removed for the purpose
of hiding the identity of the original creator.

If the project format prevents attribution information from being
included directly inside the file, the user should provide the
attribution in another reasonably visible location.

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The NLL does not constitute a transfer of intellectual property
ownership.

The original creator retains the rights that legally belong to them
over their creation.

Downloading, receiving a copy, or modifying a work does not
automatically make the user the owner of the original creation.

Users receive only the permissions expressly granted by this license.

9. THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

The NLL applies only to content over which the publisher has
sufficient authority to grant the permissions described by this
license.

A creator may not use the NLL to grant rights over material that
belongs exclusively to another person when they do not have
permission to do so.

Third-party assets may be subject to separate licenses and
conditions.

The NLL does not automatically replace or override third-party
licenses.

10. LICENSE VIOLATIONS

Violation of any condition of the NLL may result in termination of
the permissions granted by this license to the extent permitted by
applicable law.

Possible violations include deliberately removing attribution,
claiming the original content as entirely one's own, unauthorized
sale, or attempting to bypass the restrictions through derivative
works or minor modifications.

If a violation occurs accidentally, the user should correct the
violation as soon as reasonably possible.

11. ADDITIONAL PERMISSIONS

The original creator may grant additional permissions that are not
included in the NLL.

For example, the creator may specifically authorize a person or
project to commercially use the content, redistribute it under
different conditions, or use it in a way that would otherwise be
restricted.

Additional permissions should be sufficiently clear to demonstrate
that they were granted by the original creator or an authorized
representative.

12. DISCLAIMER

The content is provided in the state in which it was published unless
the creator expressly states otherwise.

The original creator does not necessarily guarantee that the content
is suitable for a particular purpose, free from errors, compatible
with every system, or permanently available.

Nothing in this section is intended to exclude liability that cannot
legally be excluded under applicable law.

13. ACCEPTANCE

By downloading, copying, using, modifying, adapting, or redistributing
content identified as being protected by the NLL (No Lively License),
the user accepts the conditions of this license to the extent that
such actions require authorization under applicable law.

If the user does not agree with the conditions of the NLL, they
should refrain from uses that require the permissions granted by
this license.

14. LICENSE VERSION

This work is distributed under:

NLL - No Lively License, Version 1.0

Future versions of the NLL may introduce modifications,
clarifications, or additional provisions.

A new version does not automatically change the terms applicable to
content explicitly distributed under a previous version unless the
creator states otherwise.

15. SUMMARY OF PERMISSIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

The NLL allows:

- Use of the content.
- Use as a base for new creations.

- Creation of derivative works.
- Free redistribution.
